On Monday, the fashion, music and Hollywood elite, got together and threw themselves a little party. The Met Gala, as this little soiree is known, is referred to as “The Oscars of Fashion” and is the annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. If you’ve ever wanted to get a teensy bit outrageous with your sartorial choices, damnit, this is the night to do it! And this year, three of today’s biggest celebs decided that they were going to basically wear the outfit they were born in– their birthday suit. Skin was ALL THE WAY in at the 2015 Met Gala.

Don’t get me wrong, Jennifer Lopez, Yoncé and, sigh, Kim Kardashian were certainly bringing it and they 1000% got the bodies to be strolling around nearly nude. And anyone who knows me well, knows that an unplanned pop by is not the way to go at my house– you will be waiting outside while I scramble around trying to find some clothes to put on.
On one hand, I love that these women are empowered to express themselves and showcase their femininity and powerful sexuality. But on the other hand, what does putting it all out there really put out there?
Lest you accuse me of being an impossible prude and a borderline never-nude, I do think there is a genius way to bring a little nudity to the red carpet:

I was not impressed by any of their dresses. J.Lo has been wearing the same style for years, for some reason I really didn’t like Beyonce’s dress and I loved Kim’s dress but Beyonce wore that same dress only 3 years ago. I really expected more from all three. I see no issues with them being partially nude I just genuinely didn’t like their dresses.

Ahhh, so who was your favorite of the night?
I do think there is a time and a place for certain outfits and these celebrities live in a la la land. Therefore the nude outfits at this event did not surprise me.

Not surprised by the outfits. I was however surprised that Kim was more covered up than Beyonce. I guess they figured if they were going to show out somewhere than this would be the place.

As was noted; The Met Gala is the vent where you can pretty much do whatever you like and try to turn heads and necks at the same time. I loved Beyoncé’s attitude that came with her dress and the high posted pony. Guess Sasha Fierce was serving that night. If Jennifer Lopez had found a way to cover up, THAT would have surprised me more. Kim Kardashian……………..

Honestly, I wasn’t impressed by any of the dresses I saw this year. I do feel like Beyonce was working her dress and she knew she looked good. I did like that she switched up the hair and went with the high pony tail.
I was unequivocally not a fan. We know you are women, you don’t have to prove it to us! I think that you can be sexy and wear something barely there at times, but anytime you put yourself in a category with Kim K (and her dress is classier than yours) there is a problem.
